Tennis players don’t give a cat’s gut about advanced composites, finite element analysis, carbon nanotubes, or any of the other buzzwords that racquet manufacturers spew.
They just want to smash the competition.
So when Wilson asked Plan B to help launch their latest racquet, with its game-changing ‘wing’ design, it was clear the last thing they needed was another boring, tech-heavy ad campaign. This was a chance to build the racquet’s brand from the ground up, so we knew we had to do more than just talk a good game.
We had to tap players’ passion to show that Wilson shared their desire to reach the top of the game, attracting players to the brand instead of chasing them with a slide ruler. Instead of rattling on about how wiz-bang the WnG technology is, with advanced engineering and materials pirated from NASA, we simply put the racquet in the hands of the world’s best players and let them do their thing.
Advantage: Plan B.
