First of all, you’ll need experience. Relevant, verifiable art direction experience – cranking out rock-solid marketing concepts, airtight layouts, and wicked designs…with flare and efficiency. We’re not talking about the mechanical execution of someone else’s bright ideas. We’re looking for a proven capacity to develop big ideas of your own – coupled, of course, with the discipline and technical skills to pull them off.
Is your book overflowing with fundamentally sound art direction decisions and evidence of some truly original thinking? Then you are the type of self-starter we are looking for.
Speed and versatility are also assets. We’re generalists by design, often building integrated marketing campaigns with many moving parts…so we need a thinker who can help us keep the dots connected. Someone who ‘gets’ the marketing rationale behind why we do the things we do. Someone who designs with purpose. Someone who doesn’t just deliver what is expected, but goes the extra mile.
Hidden talents and areas of expertise are also welcome. How are your video editing chops? Write your own headlines from time to time? Comfortable presenting your own work? Healthy portions of both B2B and B2C are part of a steady diet of digital, video, interactive, print, direct, outdoor, and yes, even broadcast. — QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- 8+ years of Art Direction experience, preferably in an agency environment
- Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite focusing on InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
- Video editing and storyboarding (Premiere and AfterEffects skills are a plus)
- Digital and Print art direction (Knowledge of Sketch is a plus)
- Strong concepting and execution skills
- Self-starter with quick turn-around of creative
